Investment Component:
The Investment Component under the project loan includes improvement of the following:
Provincial Highway (164 km)
Rural Access Roads (1200 km)
The scope of work included:
Widening, improvement in the road geometry and drainage, environmental and road safety considerations, provision of road related facilities in the urban areas, pavement strengthening, provision of graded railways crossing and inclusion of by-passes to minimize resettlement & improvement work within the existing right of way to minimize land acquisition and resettlement.
The Consultants will be responsible for:
Review of design of provincial highway 164 kms (Thatta - Sujawal and Nawabshah - Kotlalu - Ranipur road)
Feasibility studies, detailed engineering, design and preparation of the documentation of remaining 1144.634 kms of rural access roads
Construction Supervision of 164 kms of provincial highways and 1200 kms of rural access roads

The scope of work included:
Review the existing management, financial and operational system and suggest improvement in structure, role and responsibility of the W&S Deptt specifically with regards to development, maintenance and operational aspects of road infrastructure. The broad objectives are:
