The earthquake of 5th October 2005 destroyed most of the available infrastructure in parts of NWFP and AJK, Which also included a large number of schools. After the occurrence of the earthquake, several agencies conducted various studies and investigations. ERRA (earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority) conducted a detailed investigation of the area to establish a Seismic Zoning for the entire region. Various agencies had come forward and pledged large amounts and funds for reconstruction of the destroyed Infrastructure. UNICEF playing its role had hired Consultants for planning, design and managing the reconstruction of schools and in NWFP & AJK. The idea is to design and construct Earthquake Resistant Structures safe for the community and users. For this purpose, Engineering Consultants International (Pvt) Limited (ECIL) had been selected as the Consultants.
Services
Providing engineering services for feasibility surveys, preparation of layout plans, already prepared modules designs, BOQs, drawings, specifications, tender/contract documents and management of construction of schools through site provision, motivation and mobilization of contractors, resolving any technical issues and maintaining high quality work and timely completion.
